Novice Strategy for Double-Hand Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the wild west in a great game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the casino, not like almost all other poker games that gamblers bet against other players. By betting against the dealer, new players do not need to fret about other, more advanced individuals winning their moolla.

Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, rookies are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make frenzied decisions.

It’s also easier to bet on for a very long time with only a small bit of cash after all, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the croupier is given seven cards face down.

A five card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
