Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final game in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players around the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen playing online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money games?
