Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino gets seven cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
