Amateurs Tactics for Pai Gow Poker

[ English ]

Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the western in a great game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the dealer, unlike nearly all other poker games that players compete against other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, starting players do not have to worry about any other, more skillful players taking their moolla.

A further Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game pace, rookies are able to take their time and scheme while not needing to make quick decisions.

It is also easier to gamble on for a very long time with only a small bit of cash since, to not win, each of your hands needs to be lower than both of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the dealer is given seven cards face down.

A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
